During a closed media session, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana expressed dissatisfaction with the Netflix documentary "Beauty and the Bester."

"It's incomplete," she said. "It shows the crimes, but not the charm. It skips the intimacy. The elegance. The emotional labour of loving a man who kills people."

She went on to say the documentary "completely ignores the softer moments — the disguises, the passports, the quiet nights Googling how to burn dental records."

"They captured the horror," she said. "But they missed the romance."
