In a story published last week, we incorrectly stated that Helen Zille is 75 years old.

We regret the error and apologise to Hellen.

She is, in fact, only turning 75 next year — just in time to begin a five-year term as Mayor of Johannesburg.

This would see her serving in office until the age of 80.

We apologise for the inaccuracy. The math was correct. The context was worse.
